Brac island, the third largest in the Adriatic is holliday in its own. The most famous location on the island is the city of Bol with its Zlatni rat beach. Although this may be the first thing you hear about the island, don't think for a second that is all there is to it. The island has a fairly large constant population for an Adriatic island and there is quite a few little towns and villages on it: Supetar, Bol, Milna, Postira, Nerezisca, Pucisca, Splitska... to name a few. The main connection to the mainland (from Split) is with a ferry from Supetar and these are very frequent throughout the year and especially during the season. There are quite a few roads on the island so exploring the island with a car or a motorcycle is a great idea. There is loads of accomodation all across the island, from hostels to five star hotels and not to mention the private accomodation. There is a lot of interesting sites on the island, some natural like the Zlatni rat beach or Vidova gora which is the highest peak on the island and also the highest peak of any island in the Adriatic, others man-made like the hermitage in Blaca or any of the amazing churches scatterd across the island. The stone quarry in Pucisca is world famous for its pure white limestone and the port and marina in Milna are one of the most protected places in this part of the Adriatic. If you are planning to take the Three caves Tour starting from Brac island, the tour is available from Milna on the west and from Bol on the south of the island.
